Instead of spending the day in Milan, my fellow FIT colleagues and I went to the Ratti House and Factory in Lake Como! “Who’s Ratti or what is Ratti?” Well, Ratti is well known for producing silks and other luxury woven textiles for High end houses like LV, Valentino, Ferragamo, Chanel, etc. We got to take a sneak peak of how the textiles are produced and all the steps that are taken. I, along with a couple of other people even got to put our hands and purchase a scarf or two that was made in the factory. I got myself 2 Valentino scarves and 2 Valentino ties. The Ratti group was est. by Antonio Ratti; he has thousands and thousands of fabrics from all over the world dating back to the ancient times! It was amazing to see all the different types of prints and designs. Lake Como alone was a beautiful place; which I would LOVE to live in if I were ever rich. I can only imagine being neighbors with George Clooney (one of the few celebrities that own property in Lake Como).
