Out of sight (at milan, italy)
19. Born in NYC; Raised in NJ; Livin' in Florence, Italy. This blog is about my experience and adventures abroad for my first year of college (Fashion Institute of Technology) in Italy!
This is my view from Golden View Open Bar (Via dei Bardi 58r) .. I went to this restaurant for New Year’s Eve 2011. It was a great restaurant (if you can afford the menu). Since my boyfriend came to visit me for Christmas break, we decided we wanted to go on a romantic dining experience near the Arno River. The food was amazing and the wine was superb. The service was great and the atmosphere was on point. Every day they put up a new window display of fresh sea foods, so you might know what I’m talking about if you ever passed it. Well, if you ever decide to go to Florence, this is a must on a romantic wine and dine.
I know it’s a really blurry picture, and you’re probably wondering: “who the hell is that?” Well, while I was studying abroad, I went to a couple of concerts. One in particular was the Lloyd Banks concert in Club Space. Haha, yeah, I know; random. The ticket price wasn’t so bad and I thought it would be cool, so I went. I was sure Lloyd had an Italian fan base, but when I got to the club, all I saw were a bunch of other study abroad students from other schools; the generic bunch of rich kids that study abroad for only one class and a score on an awesome vacation. When Mr. Banks finally came out on stage, everyone was hyped. He’s a pretty good performer (minus the excessive sweat) and he really got the crowd going. The claustrophobic that I am though didn’t enjoy the constant pushing and shoving everyone around me was doing. I got really annoyed by this one girl whipping her hair everywhere that I pinched her so she would move. LMAO! Sorry! I know, I’m weird… but she got a little fiesty and started pulling my hair…. so I bit her. oops! oh well! Besides that, It turned out to be a pretty good night.
fashion art Mondays (at Fashion Institute of Technology)
This is some of my semi-recent art work. I feel like I really improved from last semester. If you aspire to go to fashion or art school remember that practicing really makes a different. Some people get intimidated and give up their dream right away, but that’s really not the best option.
In 1946, two legendary artists began collaboration on a short film. More than half a century later, their creation has finally been completed (x).
When I was studying abroad, I took a short weekend trip to Rome. Rome was amazing and it was probably one of my favorite cities in Europe. While I was in Rome, there was a Dali exhibition that I checked out. Dali is a fantastic surreal artist. It was cool to see all the different mediums he used for his work. I was even surprised to see clothing he designed; I never knew he designed clothes until then.

I stayed in this place called Hostal Marino in San Antonio, Ibiza. By the end of my trip, I felt like the employees of the hostal were comparable to family. haha. They were so helpful with everything and kept us entertained all day and night; not to mention the complimentary sangria when you sign in. Hey, it’s okay, Spain’s drinking age is 18.
These were the streets of San Antonio, Ibiza. My 3 colleagues and I decided to go to Ibiza for Spring Break. I wasn’t sure what to expect. I didn’t really know much about Ibiza except that it’s only the biggest party Island in Spain, probably even in the world. Also known for it hippie lifestyle and love for house music (The original Pacha Club in in Ibiza). It was off season so not a lot of places were open and the streets weren’t filled with tourists, let alone people. I stilled had an amazing time. This island in my opinion was one of the most beautiful islands I have ever been to (nothing compared to the islands in the Philippines though). The people were so friendly and the island gave off a very chill vibe.
View of the Duomo from the Santa Maria del Fior bell tower. The whole view of Florence from above is almost magical. You can see almost every Piazza, the beautiful mountains, and the flowing Arno River. I took this picture when my mom came to pick me up and take me back home to America. I’m so thankful she helped me with everything while I was studying in Italy. Anyways, my mom has an extreme case of acrophobia (fear of heights) and she did not know what to expect when I took her here. I was motivating her to keep on moving so that we can get to the top. Well, we didn’t quite make it all the way to the top. By the time we got to the third floor, the bell started to sound. The whole tower was shaking due to the vibrations of the bell. I already knew what to expect since I’ve climbed the tower before, so it was really funny to see my moms reaction. She actually enjoyed the bell tower adventure, and I guess it helped her with her fear of heights.
